Author:  Мартынова Валерия Юрьевна
Type:Article
Kind:Electronic copy
Annotation:A new computationally efficient algorithm for designing multilayer dielectric gratings (MDG) is developed based on the previously proposed modified method of separation of variables for solving direct problem of diffraction of electromagnetic waves byMDGstructures. The performance of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by designing an MDG element for spectral beam combining applications. The consideredMDGelement is based on on a pair of practically promising thin film materials.

Annotation:Currently, there has been growth of the digital economy and the informatization for most social processes. The managing socio-economic systems acquires a new specificity, both in terms of goals and means. Now special importance and prospects are opened up for the application of Big Data, Data Mining and distributed databases. The relevance of this work is to provide information support for the socio-economic management using large amounts of unstructured web-data. The research aim is the formalization of the social environment elements and decision methods of social profiling system. The concepts of social phenomenon, personal and shared social profile are formalized. Conceptual social profile models have been developed to describe the individuals and groups, as well as the complete social environment. The obtained results make it possible to systematize the social environment processes of collecting and analyzing data, providing the possibility of uniting the personal social profiles into groups and carrying out applied researches.

Title:Diffraction of TE polarized electromagnetic waves by a nonlinear layer: saturated and Kerr nonlinearities
Author:Мартынова Валерия Юрьевна    Смолькин Евгений Юрьевич  Мартынова Валерия Юрьевна
Type:Article
Kind:Electronic copy
Annotation:The diffraction of a TE wave by a dielectric layer filled with a nonlinear medium is considered. The layer is located between two half-spaces with constant permittivities. Two types of nonlinearities (nonlinearity with saturation and Kerr nonlinearity) are considered and compared. In this paper, we show the difference between solvability results of the problem in these cases. Namely the diffraction problem with saturated nonlinearity has a unique solution under some additional conditions. At the same time, the diffraction problem in the case of Kerr nonlinearity has an infinite number of solutions. The analytical and numerical solution techniques are developed. Numerical results are presented.

Title:Dissipative Tunneling of Electrons in Vertically Coupled Double Asymmetric InAs/GaAs(001) Quantum Dots

Annotation:We report the results of experimental studies of the photoelectric properties of a p-i-n GaAs photodiode with InAs/GaAs(001) double asymmetric quantum dots (DAQDs) grown by self-assembling in the metal-organic vapor-phase epitaxy process. Three peaks were observed in the dependence of the photocurrent on the reverse bias measured at monochromatic photoexcitation of the DAQDs at the wavelength corresponding to the energy of interband optical transitions between the ground hole and electron states in the larger quantum dots (QDs). These peaks were related to the tunneling of the photoexcited electrons between the QDs, including a dissipative one (with emission and absorption of optical phonons). The experimental results agree qualitatively with the theoretical field dependence of the probability of 1D dissipative tunneling between QDs.

Title:Effect of Temperature on Dissipative Electron Tunneling through Co Nanoparticles in HfO2 Films
Author:Vladimir Dmitrievich   Mikhail Borisovich
Type:Article
Kind:Electronic copy
Annotation:The influence of temperature on the processes of dissipative electron tunneling through individual Co nanoparticles (NPs) in an HfO2 film (10 nm thick) on a conductive substrate with a Co sublayer has been experimentally studied by atomic force microscopy (AFM) with a conducting probe. Co NPs were formed by local anodic oxidation of the Co sublayer using an AFM probe with subsequent drift of Co ions to the AFM probe, their reduction, and growth of Co NPs near the contact of the AFM probe tip with the HfO2 film surface. In the experiment, the tunnel current–voltage characteristics (CVC) of the formed Co NPs were measured when voltage was applied between the AFM probe and the Co sublayer at different temperatures in the range of 20–105°С. The experimental results were interpreted on the basis of the theory of one-dimensional dissipative tunneling for a model double-well oscillatory potential in an external electric field. At one of the voltage polarities on the AFM probe, kinks in I–V characteristics were observed, accompanied by current oscillations through the AFM probe I, which, according to the theory, corresponds to the situation when the initially asymmetric double-well potential becomes symmetrical. The amplitude of the mentioned oscillations ΔI falls slightly non-linearly with increasing temperature. The results of the experiment were compared with the results of calculations of the temperature dependence of the maximum amplitude of oscillations on the field dependence of the probability of 1D dissipative tunneling. The obtained qualitative agreement between the experimental 19 and theoretical temperature dependences indicates that the experimentally observed features of I–V characteristics are associated with the effect of macroscopic quantum tunneling with dissipation. A qualitative agreement was obtained between the experimental and theoretical results that allow us to assume the possibility of experimental observation of the macroscopic dissipative tunneling effects [1] and thereby confirm the hypothesis expressed in the groundbreaking works of A.J. Leggett, A.I. Larkin, Yu.N. Ovchinnikov, and other authors.

Title:Efficient Solving of Boundary Value Problems Using Radial Basis Function Networks Learned by Trust Region Method
Author:Горбаченко Владимир Иванович  Алкезуини Мухи Муртада Мухи  Джафар Мустафа Садек Джафар
Type:Article
Kind:Electronic edition
Annotation:A method using radial basis function networks (RBFNs) to solve boundary value problems of mathematical physics is presented in this paper. The main advantages of mesh-free methods based on RBFN are explained here. To learn RBFNs, the Trust Region Method (TRM) is proposed, which simplifies the process of network structure selection and reduces time expenses to adjust their parameters. Application of the proposed algorithm is illustrated by solving two-dimensional Poisson equation.

Title:Elastic Energy Losses and Orientation Effects during Interaction between Atomic Particles
Author:Костина Наталья Владимировна  Евстифеев Виктор Васильевич  Евстифеев Василий Викторович
Type:Article
Kind:Electronic copy
Annotation:Patterns of energy transfer and accumulation in elastic interactions between Nb+ ions (E0 =0.1–3 keV) and atoms of a Nb single crystal are studied by means of molecular dynamics. Spatial distributions of the recoil energy in the bulk of the crystal are calculated. It is shown that recoil energy is accumulated in the region of the densest packing of atoms, mainly in the outermost (N = 1–3) monolayers of the crystal. The effect the orientation of the target with respect to the beam has on the recoil energy and its spatial distributions is determined.
