Investigation of the Non-Stationarity Process in Virtualized Systems

Annotation: This article is the summary of the study of non-stationarity in virtualized systems. The article contains the classification of
virtualization technologies (as well as cloud and virtualized systems) based on the analysis of the current state of the subject
under study. The purpose of the article is to examine system models using queuing theory to evaluate these models. The
other goal is to consider the possibility of predicting the impact of non-stationary processes on the performance
characteristics of cloud systems, including systems with virtualization. In order to achieve this target, the author solves the
problems of determining the non-stationarity of the input stream of user requests in real systems, synthesis and research of
models for evaluating models of virtualized systems. The object of the study is queueing systems used as models of cloud
systems and systems with virtualization. The subject of the article is non-stationary processes and functioning features of
cloud and virtualized systems. In the course of the study the author considered methods of modeling computing systems in
the aspect of resource virtualization. Experiments have been conducted. Test virtual servers have been created on the host
platform. Dynamic characteristics are examined. The data obtained during the experiments are analyzed. Based on these
data there are determined methods for building efficient computing systems with virtualization. Keeping in mind the
unsteadiness of load processes will facilitate the design process of cloud and virtualized systems. The main results of this
research are given in conclusion. © 2022 IEEE.
