ANNOTATION
on the academic discipline
"Pathophysiology, clinical pathophysiology",
studied in the framework of the Basic Professional Educational Program
31.05.01 " General Medicine"

The purpose of studying the discipline "Pathophysiology, clinical pathophysiology" is the formation of professional competencies:
  • Ability to abstract thinking, analysis, synthesis (ОК-1);
  • The ability to assess morphofunctional, physiological states and pathological processes in the human body to solve professional problems (ОPК-9).

In the course of studying the discipline "Pathophysiology, clinical pathophysiology", students learn knowledge of socially significant problems and processes, which is the subject of the discipline, its goals, objectives and significance for future professional activity; the relationship of pathophysiology with other biomedical and medical disciplines; causes, mechanisms and main (most important) manifestations of typical violations of the functions of organs and physiological systems of the body; concepts of etiology, pathogenesis, morphogenesis, pathomorphism of the disease, nosology, principles of classification of diseases, basic concepts of general nosology; structural and functional foundations of diseases and pathological processes, causes, basic mechanisms of development and outcomes of typical pathological processes, impaired functions of organs and systems.

Based on the acquired knowledge, skills are formed to use abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis in practice; interpret the results of the most common laboratory and functional diagnostic methods used to identify the pathology of blood, heart and blood vessels, lungs, kidneys, liver and other organs and systems; determine and evaluate the results of electrocardiography, spirography, thermometry, hematological parameters.
The skills of owning a biomedical conceptual apparatus are acquired; the basics of working with scientific and technical information on medical topics; medical terminology, the skill of comparing morphological and clinical manifestations of diseases.
These results of mastering the discipline “Pathophysiology, clinical pathophysiology” are achieved through the use of interactive methods and technologies in the learning process: the use of electronic educational resources (teaching aids, visual tables and figures, questions and tasks for practical exercises, questions in the form of test control, questions for the test and exam) in preparation for lectures and practical exercises; the use of computer technology in lectures and practical classes; group discussions; solving situational problems; computer testing.
