He graduated in 1986 with honors from the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization of the Penza Agricultural Institute. From 1986 to 1989, he worked in manufacturing as an engineer. From 1989 to 2000, he was an assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor at the Department of Tractors, Automobiles and Thermal Power Engineering at the Penza State Agricultural Academy. From 2000 to 2014, he held the following positions: Professor, Head of the Department of Automobiles and Automotive Industry, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Vice-Rector for Economics and International Cooperation, Head of the Department of Operation of Motor Transport at Penza State University of Architecture and Construction (PSUAS). In 1994, he defended his PhD thesis at St. Petersburg State Agrarian University with a degree in 05.20.03 - "Operation, repair and restoration of agricultural machinery". In 2003, he defended his doctoral thesis at the Ogarev Mordovian State University on the topic "Improving the performance of automotive engines by improving tribochemical and hydrothermodynamic processes in lubrication systems." In 2005, he was awarded the title of professor in the Department of Automobiles and the Automotive Industry. Since 2005, he has been a full member of the Russian Academy of Transport (RAT). In 2013, he was awarded the title of "Honorary Worker of the Higher Military Education of the Russian Federation." From 2014 to 2025, he was the Head of the Department of Transport Vehicles at Penza State University. Since 2025, he has been a professor at the Department of Transport Vehicles. In 2015, he graduated with honors from the Master's degree program at the Ogarev Mordovian State University in the field of 13.04.01 - "Thermal Power Engineering and Heat Engineering".
