The total complexity of the discipline is 10 credits, 360 hours. The aim of mastering the discipline " Faculty therapy, professional 
diseases " is: the development and consolidation of competencies in the study of basic symptoms and symptom complexes of the most common nosological forms diseases in their classical (typical) course, modern methods of their diagnosis, treatment (with mandatory knowledge of international names) drugs, methods of their introduction, dosages depending on age) and principle of prevention. 
Objectives of the discipline " Faculty therapy, occupational diseases» 
purpose: study of etiology and pathogenesis, typical clinical manifestations and course 
the most common nosological forms of diseases; modern methods diagnosis, treatment and prevention of common forms of diseases; *  recognize the main symptoms and symptom complexes of the most common nosological forms of diseases; determine standard methods of examination, 
aimed at verification of diagnosis; differential diagnosis in group of diseases with similar symptoms; preliminary diagnosis with determining the scope of additional studies to clarify the diagnosis; formulation of the clinical diagnosis according to the modern classification; 
treatment plan taking into account the course of the disease, the appointment of drug therapy, the use of methods of non-drug treatment, rehabilitation events'. 
Discipline " Faculty therapy, occupational diseases» refers to the basic part of the block C1 discipline. 
"Faculty therapy, occupational diseases" is one of the basic disciplines that are interrelated with the disciplines: anatomy; biology; biochemistry; histology, embryology, Cytology; normal physiology; propaedeutics. diseases, radiation diagnostics; public health and healthcare, economy health care; pharmacology. 
The main provisions of the discipline are necessary for the study of clinical disciplines: outpatient therapy; - hospital therapy, endocrinology; infectious diseases; neurology, medical genetics; Phthisiology; clinical 
Hematology; Oncology, radiotherapy; anesthesiology, intensive care and intensive care therapy. 
 
The process of studying the discipline is aimed at the formation of the following competences': 
  • ability to abstract thinking, analysis, synthesis (GC-1); * willingness to work in a team, tolerant to perceive social, ethnic, confessional and cultural differences (GC-8); * ability and readiness to implement a set of activities, aimed at the preservation and promotion of health and including formation of a healthy lifestyle, prevention of occurrence and (or) the spread of diseases, their early diagnosis, identification of causes and conditions of their origin and development, as well as aimed at eliminating harmful effects on human health of environmental factors (PC-1); 
  • willingness to collect and analyze patient complaints, anamnesis data, results examination, laboratory, instrumental, pathologic-anatomical and other research to recognize the condition or to establish the existence of or absence of disease (PC-5); 
  • ability to determine the patient's major pathological conditions, symptoms, syndromes of diseases, nosological forms in accordance with International statistical classification of diseases and related problems with health, X3 (PC-6); 
  • ability to apply the basic principles of organization and management in 
  • in the sphere of health protection of citizens, in medical organizations and their structural units (PC-17); 
  • readiness for analysis and public presentation of medical information on evidence-based medicine (PC-20). 

In the course of studying the discipline " Faculty therapy, occupational diseases» students acquire knowledge about etiology, pathogenesis, classification, clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment of major respiratory diseases (pneumonia, suppurative lung disease, chronic simple (non-obstructive) bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis); circulatory system (acute rheumatic fever, infective endocarditis,mitral valvular heart disease, aortic valvular heart disease, hypertension, atherosclerosis, angina, acute coronary syndrome, acute myocardial infarction, chronic heart failure); digestive organs (esophageal diseases, chronic gastritis, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, chronic cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, chronic pancreatitis, chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis); kidney (acute and chronic glomerulonephritis); occupational diseases (occupational allergies, occupational respiratory diseases of toxic-chemical etiology, dust diseases lung, vibration disease). On the basis of the acquired knowledge, the ability to correctly collect anamnesis and conduct a physical examination of the patient, make a plan of examination of the patient with by one or another disease, correctly interpret the data of laboratory and instrumental methods of research, reasonably put and formulate preliminary and final diagnosis, make a treatment plan for the disease. Acquired skills of ownership of the ability to independently carry out a set of measures aimed at preserving and strengthening health, formation of a healthy lifestyle, prevention of occurrence and the spread of diseases, their early diagnosis, identification of the causes and conditions of their the emergence and development, as well as aimed at eliminating the harmful effects on human health and environment; willingness to analyze complaints, anamnesis, results of examination, laboratory, instrumental, pathologic-anatomical and other studies for the purpose of recognizing the condition or establishing the fact of or absence of disease; independently determine the main pathological conditions, symptoms, syndromes of diseases, nosological forms in accordance with International statistical classification of diseases; ability to independently apply the basic principles of organization and management in the field of health citizens, in medical organizations and their structural subdivisions; *  independently analyze and publicly present medical information on evidence-based medicine. 

Types of educational work: lectures, practical classes, coursework, independent work. 
The study of the discipline ends with an exam.
