Abstract of the work program of the discipline "Bioethics" 
 Course – 31.05.01   – General Medicine. 
 
1. OBJECTIVES AND OBJECTIVES OF STUDYING DISCIPLINE: 
The aims and goals of the discipline Bioethics are as follows the formation of moral-ethical norms, rules and principles of professional conduct in the medical community. Tasks of the study of the discipline are:
  • the study of the basic ethical documents of international and domestic professional medical associations and organizations;  
  • studying of bases of mutual relations "doctor-patient", "doctor-relatives";  
  • understanding of ethical issues in medical genetics, transplantation of human organs and tissues, entrepreneurial activities in medicine and other.  
 
2. LINKS TO OTHER DISCIPLINESOF THE CENERALCURRICULUM. 
Academic discipline refers to the humanitarian, social and economic cycle C.1. Required during the development of the discipline "Bioethics" are the knowledge, skills and readiness in the disciplines of Psychology and pedagogics", "History of Faterland", "Philosophy", "Jurisprudence". Competences acquired in the course of study of discipline "Bioethics" prepare students for the development of professional competencies. The main provisions of discipline should be used for further study the following disciplines: "of Faculty therapy, occupational diseases", "Of faculty surgery, urology, Neurology, medical genetics, neurosurgery, Psychiatry, medical psychology", "Pediatrics", "Outpatient treatment", "Dermatovenerology", "Ophthalmology", "Obstetrics and gynecology", "hospital therapy, endocrinology", "Phthisiology", "Forensic medicine", "Infectious diseases", "Stomatology", "Outpatient therapy, Oncology, radiation therapy, Otolaryngology, Traumatology and Orthopaedics", and also in preparation of final qualifying work. 
  
REQUIREMENTS TO THE RESULTS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF DISCIPLINE 
The process of studying the discipline is aimed at the formation of the following competencies: general cultural competence:  
  •  GCC -2: the ability to use the basics of philosophical knowledge for the formation of ideological positions; 
  •  GCC -4: the ability to act in emergency situations, bear social and ethical responsibility for decisions; 
  •  GCC -8: willingness to work in a team, tolerant to perceive social, ethnic, confessional and cultural differences. 
 
In the result of studying the discipline student must: 
Know:  
  • basic ethical terms and ethical; 
  • basic ethical documents  professional medical associations and organizations; - the ethical foundation of biomedical research and application of new medical technologies; 
  • notions of professional responsibility of doctors, professional medical error; 
  • ethical and legal basis of the status of the patient and the doctor; 
  • ethical and professional culture of a doctor; - ethical standards of professional medical ethics. Student need to be able: 
  • to defend their scientific and medical position; 
  • to protect the civil rights of doctors and patients of different age; - lead a discussion, using various ethical methods of conflict resolution; - to build and maintain working relationships with other team members. 
 
The student must have the skills of: 
  • principles of medical deontology and medical ethics; 
  • skills and principles of moral culture, of presenting an independent point of view, analysis and logical thinking, ethical reasoning, debate; 
  • reasoning to problem solving ethical and legal issues of medical practice, protect the interests of the patient; 
  • methods the ethical analysis of professional activity of doctor; 
  • ways of permission of problem situations and conflicts; 
  • the skills of philosophical interpretation of the scientific and practical medical problems. 
 
 
The total complexity of the discipline is 72 hours. (2SE)
