The total labor output of the discipline is 4 credits, 144 hours.
The goals of the field training "Research Work" are to learn methods of preparing, editing and designing scientific research works; to obtain skills of working with scientific literature, the ability to write literature reviews; to acquire a functional research skill as a universal way of mastering the reality; to develop the research type of thinking and putting it into practice. The objectives of the field training "Research work" are research skills development, research work designing, and research planning.
Subject’s place in specialist MPEP’s structure:
The field training “Research work” refers to a part of block C2 of the Practice. The field training is a mandatory and important link in the training system, providing the necessary skills on the basis of which the training of a future general practitioner is based. This training is based on the knowledge, skills and abilities obtained when studying the following disciplines: Latin; Biochemistry; Histology, Embryology, Cytology; Computer Science; Science of Science; Normal Physiology.
The competences acquired during the field training “Research work” prepare students for the development of other professional competences:
- the ability and readiness to analyze and publicly present medical information based on evidence-based medicine. (SPC-20)
- the ability to participate in research (SPC-21)
- readiness to participate in the introduction of new methods and techniques aimed at protecting the health of citizens (SPC-22);
On the basis of the acquired knowledge, students obtain the abilities to put into practice the methods of evidence-based medicine in assessing the health status of adults and adolescents, the activities of medical institutions and in scientific research; to fill out the results of research work, to plan and organize research work; to present the results of their activities. Students develop the skills of applying evidence-based medicine methods in assessing the health status of adults and adolescents, the activities of medical institutions and in scientific research; working with scientific and educational literature; formulating theoretical conclusions; working with scientific and educational literature; formulating theoretical conclusions; organizing research work, protecting the health of citizens.
