«Practical grammar of the Russian language»

Graduate’s qualification – general practitioner. Full-time form of education. 

The purpose of the discipline: to master and consolidate the basic grammatical forms of the Russian language and the rules for their use in the syntactic system; conscious use of grammatical forms in speech practice. 
Objectives of the discipline:
  1.  Studying and mastering the forms of the nominal and verb grammatical systems of the Russian language.
  2.  Developing the skills of the conscious use of grammatical forms in oral speech.
  3.  Developing the skills of understanding and distinguishing the use of grammatical forms in the spoken language of the interlocutor.
  4.  Perceiving grammatical categories and their correlation with extralinguistic concepts.
  5.  Mastering in corpore the system of grammatical forms of names and verbs. 
The process of studying the discipline is aimed at the formation of the following competences:
  • GC-5 - readiness to self-development, self-realization, self-education, usage of creative potential;
  • GPC-2 - readiness for communication in oral and written forms in Russian and foreign languages for solving problems of professional activity. 
     
Forms of conducting classes:
a) the theoretical part, during which students gain and consolidate the knowledge and skills obtained in the course of practical exercises and unsupervised work;
b) the practical part, during which students apply the acquired knowledge in practice, semantic and grammatical analysis of oral speech during classroom and laboratory unsupervised studies. 
 
The content of the discipline:
1. Elementary forms and models of grammar.
  1. Elementary syntactic constructions (general and special questions, existential sentences in the present tense).
  2. Elementary information about the nominal and pronoun system of the Russian language (gender and number of the noun, possessive and personal pronouns, accusative case of possessive pronouns).
  3. Basic information about the verb system of the Russian language (personal forms of the verbs of I and II conjugations in the present tense; verbs - exceptions).
  4. Elementary information about other parts of speech (adjectives, numerals, adverbs, prepositions). 
2. Basic forms and models of grammar.
  1. Basic constructions with prepositions, verb forms and modal words (statements indicating time, spatial characteristics, affiliation, absence; constructions with a modal word should and short adjectives).
  2. Basic information about the noun system of the Russian language (cases of the noun and adjective, animate and inanimate nouns).
  3. Basic information about the verb system of the Russian language (types of verb, verbs of movement, future and past tenses of verbs).
  4. Basic information about other parts of speech (prepositions and numerals). 
 
The place of the discipline in the curriculum and the total labor output:
“Practical grammar of the Russian language” is studied in the 1st semester and refers to the variable part (the disciplines at the student’s choice).
Mastering the discipline will allow:
  • to form student's professional attitude to the language being studied as a means of teaching the future specialty;
  • to perceive the system rules for the use of grammatical models and forms. 
 
As a result of studying the discipline, the student should know:
  •  the basic grammatical constructions of the Russian language of elementary and basic levels; 
  •  the rules of using basic grammatical structures in spoken Russian language; 
  • be able to:
  •  analyze the corresponding grammatical material of the Russian language;
  •  use basic grammatical constructions of the Russian language in communicative situations; 
  • master:
  •  techniques of researching, training of grammatical material of the Russian language;
  •  grammar skills necessary for communication in the Russian language (basic level). 
     
The total labor output of the discipline is 2 credits (72 hours).
Types of educational work: Practical classes - 34 hours. Unsupervised work - 38 hours.
