 Study program abstract of discipline “Pharmacology”

Overall workload equals 7 ECTSs, 252 hours.  
The aims and goals of the discipline (module) Pharmacology are as follows: formation of the competencies, aimed at protecting the health of the citizens by ensuring pharmaceutical care in accordance with the requirements and standards in the field of health care. 
Pharmacology refers to the based part of the block C.1 - Disciplines. 
The discipline "Pharmacology" is interconnected with the disciplines: Latin language, biochemistry, normal physiology, pathological physiology, clinical pathophysiology, microbiology, virology. 
The main provisions of the discipline are necessary for the study of theoretical and clinical disciplines: therapy, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics,  otorhinolaryngology, traumatology and orthopedics, infectious diseases, clinical pharmacology.  
 
Study process of human anatomy is aimed at building professional competences:  
  • preparedness for medical use  of medicines and other substances and their combinations at the solution of professional tasks (OPC-8);  
  • ability to formulate the tactics of maintaining patients with various nosological forms  (PC-8). 
 
Structure and content of the discipline 
Discipline is taught at the 5th and 6th semesters. The form of intermediate control in the fifth semester is - set-off, in the sixth - the exam and coursework. Teaching discipline is in English. 
The program includes sections: the general compounding, general and private questions of pharmacology.
