Human Anatomy

Study program abstract of discipline “Human anatomy”

Overall workload equals 11 ECTSs, 396 hours.

The purpose of the mastering of the human anatomy is to study anatomy and physiology, age, sex and individual characteristics of the structure and development of the human organism. The purposes of studying human anatomy are: to study structure and topography of the organs, individual, sex and age peculiarities of body structure, including prenatal development (organogenesis), anatomic and topographic relationships of organs, their X-ray image; variants
of variability of individual organs, their malformations.

Academic discipline «Human Anatomy» refers to basic part of the cycle C1. Disci-plines.

Human Anatomy is one of the basic disciplines, which is interconnected with the disci-plines: Latin, Biology, Histology.

The main theses of human anatomy are required to study the clinical disciplines: Phys- iology, Pathological Anatomy, Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery, Internal Medi- cine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Neurology, Otorhinolaryngology, Oph- thalmology, Urology, Traumatology and Orthopedics.

Study process of human anatomy is aimed at building professional competences:
  • ability of abstract thinking, logical analysis and synthesis skills (GC-1);
  • willingness to solve typical problems in their professional activities using different infor- mation sources, medical terminology, computer technologies and complying with the de- mands of information security (GPC-1);
  • implementing knowledge in general science and its branches for solving professional tasks (GPC-7);
  • knowing how to use medicines, medical products and technologies in solving professional problems (GPC-9);

While studying a discipline «Human Anatomy» the students acquire knowledge of gen- eral laws of the origin and development of life; anthropogenesis and ontogenesis of human; basic laws of development and functioning of the body of adult man and teen on the basis of the structural cell, tissues and organ organization; anatomic-physiological, age and sex, and individual characteristics of the structure and development of a healthy human; anatomic re- search methods and anatomic terms; anatomy of organs, systems, parts of their structure, their main function; relationship with each other, their projection on the surface of the body; main options for the structure and malformations.
The acquired knowledge leads to formation of the following skills: the anatomic tools, to find and display organs and parts of organs on anatomical aids; to find by the method of prep- aration large blood vessels, nerves, glands ducts, separated organs; to find on x-rays basic de- tails of the structure, palpate human for finding the main bone landmarks, to outline topographic organs’ contours and major vascular and nerve-trunks; to analyze the results of X-ray exami- nation of patients.
